Don't you get it? They were told that if the plywood got wet, it was raining, and if it blew away, it was windy.
Since they didn't want Hurricane Rita anywhere near Northgate, they did what they had to do to keep it away.

Funny, but there really was a reason for this. They said it would cost less to replace the windows than to fix the masonry that would get messed up if they put the wood on the outside of the building.
Yeah, I figured probably there was a rational explanation along those lines; but who could pass up an opportunity like that one?
A friend brought this to my attention as the owner of this shop.
It was already windy outside after we arrived from Home Depot to buy these plywoods. It was too dangerous to go out and since our main concern was protect the store from looters, I think I made the right decision.
George,
I know, I know, if you read the earlier comments you'll see that we actually figured there was a good reason. It just makes a great visual joke, that's all. Relatively few of us who tell Aggie jokes actually think Aggies are stupid.
Um...if you don't mind my asking...how much time are you spending finding people who liked this picture, and explaining yourself to them? I mean, it's not like this blog is Instapundit...
Anyway, nobody I've shown the picture to really thinks you didn't know which side the plywood is supposed to go on. Please don't fret over it.
