I love stuff like this...
...because I am a geek at heart. (HT: The Corner.)
That's also why I love enlightening stories such as this one...
An Indian chief of yore was blessed with three wives, all of whom he loved (though, admittedly, he did have a favorite). Being a relatively wise man, however -- not wise enough to keep from saddling himself with multiple menstrual periods per month, but still not being a complete fool -- he didn't try to keep all three women happy in the same tepee; each wife had her own. Wife #1 had a very nice tepee made of the local buffalo hide. Wife #2 had a rather smaller tepee, but it was made of deerhide imported from the Appalachians, with matching beaded moccasins (the chief had a brother-in-law in the import/export business). But for Wife #3, the chief arranged to have shipped in, at great expense, the raw materials for what became the only hippopotamus-hide tepee on the entire Great Plains.
The chief was a vigorous man in his prime, and all three wives were shortly with child. Indeed, they all gave birth on the same day: Wife #1 had a beautiful baby girl and Wife #2 had a big strong baby boy. But Wife #3 won again: she had twins, a boy and a girl.
Which just proved once again that the squaw of the hippopotamus is equal to the sum of the squaws of the other two hides.

ha, ha, ha, ...
I've always enjoyed puns, and since I'm sure Ed, being an engineer AND someone who also likes puns (he has to if he lives with me!), will enjoy this, I plan to send it to him posthaste.
Have a great day!
